Course Description: Designed to be a student's first systematic introduction to the sciences, Exploring Creation with General Science, 3rd Ed. explores broad topics such as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, geology, archaeology, biology, and more, with a large focus on Earth Science (astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, earth study, geology, paleontology, and environmental science). Hands-on experiments are included throughout, giving students practical experience as they discover the principles behind science and learn how to record and report data. Presented in a conversational format, the author walks students through how to complete experiments, how to identify important parts of information they read, and how to take notes. Students will learn to see God's hand in all of life as they learn about the world He made; they will also read testimonies from modern-day scientists who interpret data through a Christian worldview.
Homework: This course involves extensive lab work, so the majority of class time is spent on conducting experiments. The students will be responsible for reading all assignments from the text, completing “On Your Own” questions, lab reports and study guides from the student notebook. The tests will be administered by the parent and grades reported to me. I will keep a gradebook for all of these assignments, plus additional projects and class participation.

Course Description: This course is designed to be the last science course the student takes before high school biology. Thus, we generally recommend it as an 8th grade course. The text discusses such topics as the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, weather, the structure of the earth, environmentalism, the physics of motion, Newton’s Laws, gravity, and astrophysics. The author especially concentrates on the myths generated by the hysterical environmentalist movement. There are many hands-on experiments to do, and they all use household chemicals and supplies. It is an excellent course for preparing the student to take a college-prep high school science curriculum. This is a lab only class. Hands on experiments will be completed in class. Parents will handle all the book work at home, administer and grade the module tests, using the Solutions and Tests Manual, and record the grades for their own files. Students will use the Student Notebook to record most written work and lab reports.

Course Description: I will be teaching one at a time that way I can help each student individually and help them grow in strength. It takes the student through the basics of violin playing. This class will essentially be a stepping stone for the students. For the first bit they will be learning how to properly handle a violin and bow, by using little games to learn the techniques needed to play with skill. Then around the second or third week we will begin with simple songs. I will walk through them, with each student so they will learn to be proficient in the basics of how to play.
